Embark on a global journey across the seven continents, stepping into an immersive experience unlike any other. As you prepare for this adventure, take a moment to notice the importance of entrance matting—your first encounter with a world of wonder.

At COBA, particularly within our division COBA Flooring, we take immense pride in our collaboration with BBC Earth. Together, we’ve contributed a pivotal matting solution ensuring an unparalleled experience for all who enter the spectacular new London attraction—a joint venture between BBC Studios, Moon Eye Productions, and Live Nation.

This groundbreaking venue boasts three distinct zones, inviting audiences of all generations to engage with the natural world in a never-before-seen manner. Featuring breathtaking footage from the renowned Seven Worlds, One Planet series by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit and enriched by the iconic narration of David Attenborough, this 360° audio-visual odyssey promises an unforgettable encounter.

Our team at COBA Flooring played a crucial role in safeguarding the interior flooring of this monumental edifice. Teaming up with FAAC, the provider of the revolving doors, we ensured the ideal entrance matting solution. The Plan.a Low Profile with Alba inserts stands as the perfect choice for this high-traffic location, adept at removing dirt and debris while safeguarding against slipping hazards by efficiently managing moisture.

Efficiency was paramount in readying this space for public reception. Our adept COBA installation team seamlessly integrated the Plan.a entrance matting system into the mat well adjacent to the revolving door, minimising downtime and maximising readiness.

Beyond functionality, our experts diligently aligned the matting solution with the building’s aesthetics and practical needs. The adaptable brown Alba inserts, crafted from ECONYL®—repurpose waste materials, including fishing nets, textiles, old carpets, and industrial scraps—perfectly suited zone-3 high-volume areas, aligning with both the visual appeal and environmental ethos of the establishment.

Mindful of BBC Earth’s commitment to sustainability, the use of ECONYL® regenerated nylon not only assures performance but also contributes to cleaning our oceans—a shared mission we’re proud to support.

Our gratitude extends to the collaborative efforts of ES Global, the main contractor, and Tristop Media for their exceptional contributions to this successful project.

If you seek entrance matting solutions that blend longevity with recycled materials, our dedicated sales teams stand ready to assist in tailoring the perfect solution for your site. Join us in crafting spaces that harmonise functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.
